Payment fraud is an adversarial system. Fraudsters aren’t random – they’re organized, funded, and they probe your defenses deliberately. My job is to build systems that stay ahead of that.
I’m a Staff Data Scientist at a global fintech, working on Payment Fraud Risk. The interesting problems in this space aren’t usually inside the models – they’re in the gaps between systems, in feedback loops you didn’t notice, and in the places where your evaluation said one thing and production said another.
I am a practicing Systems Thinker. My background is Electrical Engineering, and I still build robotics hardware for fun. Managing physical feedback loops and designing stable circuits turns out to be excellent preparation for fraud prevention – the problems are structurally similar.
This site is my working directory. I write about AI/ML systems, how they fail, and what production actually demands.
